Leeds United fans will have their sights set on nothing less than automatic promotion in the current campaign, as they’ve been hugely impressive up until this point, other than their recent slip-up.
The Blades somehow managed to get the better of the Whites in a game that was dictated by Leeds for large parts, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side just couldn’t take their chances. But, with the international break now here it gives Bielsa time to think about his next step and how he can get the Whites back to winning ways.
Although, one player who appears to be on the Yorkshire club’s mind is Luca Murphy. According to TEAMtalk, Leeds United are interested in signing the former Hartlepool United youngster, but they’ll face competition from the likes of Manchester United, Spurs, Newcastle, Leicester City, Cardiff City and Wolves, while Middlesbrough, Brentford, Sheffield United, Barnsley and Sunderland have also been looking at him.

Leeds United would make a big statement by securing the services of the youngster as a number of the Premier League’s big guns are interested in the defender, as well as a host of other clubs. Of course, there’s nothing Leeds fans would love more than beating bitter rivals Manchester United to a signing.
Of course, the attraction of Premier League football could tempt the youngster, so securing promotion to the top-flight could hold the key to signing Murphy.

Thorp Arch has developed a number of youngsters over the years who have gone on to make a name for themselves in the first-team ranks at Elland Road, and Murphy could just be the next player to make the step up if he joins.
Leeds can secure themselves a future star by bringing Murphy to Yorkshire as he has all the ingredients to succeed at the very top if he’s given the correct guidance and develops properly. And, his former club Hartlepool speak very highly of him as they described him (via Hartlepool’s official website) as a player who’s comfortable on the ball and able to play with either foot, he’s athletic, confident and rarely fazed.
