Potential consequences of Leeds signing Nahitan Nandez

Leeds United fans will be praying that their recent performance against Sheffield United isn’t a sign of things to come as they dominated for large parts but just couldn’t find a way through.

The Whites are still in with a very good chance of securing automatic promotion to the Premier League in the current campaign, with a strong squad at Marcelo Bielsa’s disposal and plenty of fixtures still to come.

Although, Bielsa may have identified one area that requires improvement at Elland Road, as according Tuttomercatoweb (via HITC), Leeds United are interested in signing Boca Juniors’ Nahitan Nandez.

Nandez is a central midfielder who’s proved himself on the international stage and at club level, so here are the potential consequences of Leeds signing him…

MARCELO BIELSA SECURES PERFECT KLICH PARTNER

Mateusz Klich has operated alongside a number of players in the current campaign but he’s still yet to really find the perfect partner at Elland Road. Indeed, Leeds fans have been blown away by the Poland international’s performances this season but you can’t help but think that he has another couple of gears to go up.

Nahitan Nandez may just be the perfect man to unlock Klich’s full potential as he has the pace and dribbling ability to drag players towards him, which would open up space for the Leeds man to operate in. Also, the Uruguay international loves to play quick one-two passes in the middle of the park and is great at tracking back and putting in a tackle, so having him in the side would allow Klich to operate with much more freedom.

ADAM FORSHAW WORRIED

Adam Forshaw has been suffering with an injury in recent times at Elland Road but it’s safe to say that he was a regular under Marcelo Bielsa prior to his setback.

The Whites have opted to go with the likes of Tyler Roberts and Mateusz Klich in the middle in recent times, which has worked tremendously. So, Nandez’s potential arrival could make Forshaw rather worried as he’d struggle to push Roberts or Klich out of the side, let alone the Boca Juniors man.
