Plenty of QPR fans were fondly reminiscing about Bobby Zamora’s dramatic late winner in the 2014 Championship play-off final after the club marked the six-year anniversary of that moment on Twitter (via @QPR).

On 24 May 2014, the R’s secured promotion to the Premier League in memorable fashion at Wembley. The Championship play-off decider against Derby was goalless coming up to stoppage time and the Londoners had already been a man light for half an hour after Gary O’Neil was sent off when the decisive moment arrived. After Rob Green had performed heroically at the other end, QPR seized their moment when Richard Keogh’s scuffed clearance in the 90th minute fell to Zamora and he dispatched the ball to the net for only his fourth goal of the season to ensure an immediate return to the top flight for the Hoops (as per BBC). It was the striker’s second time scoring a Championship play-off final winner, having done so for West Ham nine years previously.
