Queens Park Rangers succumbed to a disappointing 2-0 defeat against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend, a result which ended the R’s four match winning streak.

On the day it would be fair to say that Albion were simply the better side. Indeed, they had seven shots on target and managed to stop QPR from having a single one in 90 minutes.
Despite the defeat, one player who did come out of the game with some credit for the West London outfit was centre-back Toni Leistner.
The German was not a regular for Rangers at the start of the season. But since coming on at half-time against Wigan Athletic in mid-August he has been an ever-present in the side and has started in each of their last four Championship outings.
He has impressed in his spell in the team, and did so again against the Baggies. The former Union Berlin man made five interceptions, two tackles and one clearance in the 90 minutes, as well as winning five aerial duels (via WhoScored).
His performance did not go unnoticed by the QPR fans either, many of whom took to Twitter after the game to offer their praise to the German defender. Here is what a few of them had to say…
You played very well Toni. Man of the match for me again, two games running. 🇩🇪

Keep inspiring the team Toni, true leader. I loved listening to the podcast too

You played well though Toni. It was further forward that we were weak. Too many players off form.
