According to The Daily Mail, Rangers are looking to signing Aston Villa youngster Rushian Hepburn-Murphy with our local Gers fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping they can get a deal done.
Conversely, our resident Villa supporters want the club to try and keep him but that is looking increasingly unlikely with his deal to expire next year and a resolution concerning an extension still not in the offing.
The report suggests that Rangers are looking to exploit the FIFA rule that says signing players under the age of 24 when moving between Scotland and England, with their contracts running down requires only minimum compensation to be paid.
That suggests a deal could happen very soon for the striker who signed for Villa in 2015 and was given his Premier League debut under Tim Sherwood.

Our landlord has seen a fair bit of the Villa youngster and thinks it would be an incredibly shrewd signing for Mark Warburton’s side, though would be surprised if the Aston Villa let him leave.
