The season has only just begun but Real Madrid’s injury list continues to grow.
Already this term, Los Blancos have had to content with injuries to Marco Asensio, Luka Modric, Isco, Brahim Diaz and Fede Valverde (via Goal), and now there is one more casualty – left-back Marcelo.
The Brazilian picked up a neck injury during the club’s 3-2 win over Levante on Saturday and will now miss Real’s Champions League curtain-raiser against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday evening.
A statement on Madrid’s official website reads: “After the tests carried out today on our player Marcelo by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a post-traumatic cervicodorsal injury. His recovery will continue to be assessed.”
Goal report that as well as Marcelo and the other injured stars mentioned above, defenders Sergio Ramos and Nacho will also miss Madrid’s clash with PSG through suspension, leaving the Spaniards extremely thin on the ground.
