Mohamed Salah’s agent is in talks with Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad. The Liverpool forward has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia for the past few seasons, with last summer in particular rife with speculation.
Salah was at the time reluctant to depart Anfield as he desired a stay among Europe’s elite. Footmercato has reported that the player is much more open to a move next summer than he was last year, following a difficult campaign with the Reds.
Salah dominated headlines last December when he publicly criticized the club and his manager for dropping him from the team. This followed a dip in form for the player and a string of poor results for Liverpool which saw them effectively drop out of the title race.
A shock move away was considered in January, but Salah enjoyed a respite from the club while away at the African Cup of Nations with Egypt. He has since returned to the starting XI for the most part under Arne Slot, but his long term future remains uncertain.
Salah in exit talks

Liverpool have already invested heavily in attacking reinforcements, breaking the British transfer record twice last summer to sign Florian Wirtz and then Alexander Isak. They also added Hugo Ekitike who is their current top goal scorer.
The Reds were also interested in a January move former Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, which many believe was preparation for life without Salah. While Semenyo eventually joined Manchester City, Liverpool have continued to be linked with wingers such as RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and PSG’s Bradley Barcola.
Salah’s contract expires in 2027, so a summer move could benefit all parties. Liverpool would receive a transfer fee and Salah would leave on his own terms. Al Ittihad are in need of reinforcements after losing Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante in the January window.
Salah’s former Liverpool teammate Fabinho is on the books at Al Ittihad as well, but his contract expires at the end of the season.
