Celtic’s underwhelming start to the new SPL season took another turn for the worse after the club lost 2-1 away at Kilmarnock last Sunday.
Brendan Rodgers’ men will now be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in the Scottish League Cup quarter-final and, given Celtic’s run of form and fixture list, there could be a few changes made for tonight’s game.
If so, one player who will be hoping to feature is Lewis Morgan, a player Rodgers holds in high regard.
“Lewis Morgan isn’t far away,” the Celtic boss told the Scottish Sun when asked if the 21-year-old was close to returning to full fitness. “He’s looked really good, really strong and dynamic. He’s hungry to play.”
With £675k-rated (via Transfermarkt) Morgan seemingly available to play, he is an option well worth considering for Rodgers.
Much has been said about Celtic’s defence but, offensively, the team have just not looked themselves and could do with some fresh impetus, something that Morgan can provide.
The explosive acceleration Morgan possesses and his quick feet could cause absolute havoc down either St. Johnstone flank and, ultimately, would liven up a Celtic attack that has gone a bit flat.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
