Sheffield Wednesday fans are divided over whether loanee Jacob Murphy has done enough to warrant a permanent contract at Hillsborough.
The Englishman joined the Owls from Newcastle last summer on a year long loan after signing for the Magpies in 2017 (via BBC Sport). The 25-year-old made the move to gain some valuable minutes on the pitch, and this season he has missed just six games.

Murphy’s performances in Wednesday colours haven’t set the Championship alight, but they haven’t been dreadful either. The winger has tallied five goals and two assists this term, with only top scorer Steven Fletcher outscoring him (via Transfermarkt).

As his contract ticks down and he looks to return to Newcastle this summer, fans have been discussing whether Murphy has a permanent future with the Yorkshire outfit. Owls are split in their opinions on the forward – one supporter has said ‘we’re desperate’ for players whilst another thinks the 25-year-old has ‘not done enough’ to prove himself.

If he was free! But with his wages and a fee it would be a very expensive deal for us

Not for me. 6/7 good performances out of 30 appearances. Not enough.
