Sheffield Wednesday: Fans slam Garry Monk’s post-match Swansea comments

Garry Monk

Garry Monk has given his thoughts following Sheffield Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to Swansea on Sunday.

The Owls travelled to south Wales to take on a side hoping to push for a play-off spot at the end of this season and, surely enough, that determination got them over the line. The Swans held a comfortable two-goal lead for 90 minutes, with Wednesday only able to grab a consolation goal on the stroke of full-time.

Monk’s side have slipped back into 15th place in the Championship table. Their loss against Swansea was their 17th in the league this season.

Is Garry Monk the right man for Sheffield Wednesday?

No

In his post-match press conference, the Owls manager said: “If we had scored first, they would have been the ones we are chasing. We made a couple of mistakes and were heavily punished. We should never have been 2-0 down.”

These comments haven’t gone down well with some Wednesdayites who feel that Monk is just stating the obvious rather than doing anything about it. One Owl has tweeted “Fans are just about done with his man” after the manager came under fire recently.

Same old rubbish from Monk. Not 100% blaming him as the players are a mix of not good enough or interested however still don’t rate him
