As Neil Warnock and his squad prepare to do battle amongst the game’s best he is weighng up the possibility of bringing in Robbie Keane to Loftus Road.
It’s as clear as Upton Park will be next season that the Irish International’s days are numbered as far as Spurs fans are concerned. Plus, following is unhappy spell in east London getting hammered with the hammers week in week out, resulting in relegation it is unlikely he will be blowing bubbles next season.
Rangers look set to revamp their squad showing the door to many of the players who slogged their guts out to seal promotion.
Keane is thought to be pivotal prospect for Warnock who has also been looking at Joe Cole and Peterborough’s Craig Mckail-Smith, whom has smashed an impressive 33 goals in 55 games this season. (In league one)
Rangers look set to offer Keane a final throw of the dice and are lining up a fee of around £6 million believed to be reasonable for the front-man.
Keane has spent over a decade of his career thumping the ball between the sticks for various clubs earing him over 160 goals in England’s top flight, playing the best of his football during his first stint at White Hart Lane which lasted six seasons.
I believe Keane is past his best, but certainly not passed his sell by date and the experience alone he would bring to the training ground would be worth the money.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see Keane in a Rangers strip next season…
