With Steven Taylor stalling over a new contract, Liverpool and Everton have been put on red alert.
Taylor has refused to sign a contract extension at Newcastle but looks back to his best form recently, with claims that he wants to move on. Tottenham and Aston Villa are also interested in the former England u-21 captain.
Could a move in January be the best thing for everyone? Newcastle certainly don’t want to lose him on a free transfer, so where should he go?
David Moyes has been interested for a while, Liverpool need their defence bolstering – but will Roy Hodgson be around long enough – Villa is a good a place as any for a young English star to go and Harry Redknapp always loves to bid for a player that he doesn’t really need.
How much should Mike Ashley let him go for? Chris Hughton and Newcastle have had an up and down season so far but should be in the Premiership for a while yet.
Crunch talks should follow, and January should be interesting. Over to you, Steven…

Taylor would be a great signing for Liverpool, he is passionate like Carragher but has more quality on the ball and is much quicker!
Hate to say this but perhaps its best if he went to Liverpool, I sense Kaboul & Bassong will limit his chances with Gallas & Dawson already at the helm.
Anyone who ditches his boyhood team and leaves them without a bean isn’t someone who I’d like to see in a Lilywhite shirt, smacks of Campbellism! and anyway he’s not good enough for us.
