The Newcastle United fans in the Transfer Tavern have expressed their disappointment at drawing at Southampton after leading twice.
The Magpies were twice pegged back by Southampton in a tightly contested encounter which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Newcastle took a first half lead through Isaac Hayden – the midfielder struck from outside of the box.
Four minutes into the second half, Southampton were level.
Manolo Gabbiadini turned and fired in an equaliser but the Saints were only on level terms for two minutes before Newcastle regained the lead.
Ayoze Perez took advantage of a Fraser Forster error to net at the second attempt, restoring Newcastle’s one goal advantage.
But with fifteen minutes left to play, Florian Lejeune committed an unnecessary foul on Shane Long and Manolo Gabbiadini comprehensively powered in the equaliser from the spot.
