Sunderland suffered a turnaround defeat in the EFL Trophy last night to Leicester City’s U21 side at the Stadium of Light.
The Black Cats were looking to get themselves a victory against the young Foxes side and were in front after 14 minutes thanks to a goal from Chris Maguire.
However, they could not build on that and put in a fairly poor display overall, with the u21 outfit scoring two goals without reply to end up winning the tie.
A few players came in for criticism after the game from Sunderland fans, then, and one of those to receive stick more than most was midfielder Dylan McGeough.
The Scot has failed to really force his way into the set-up at Sunderland since arriving and, after this performance, it seems as though Black Cats fans can’t see him doing so any time soon.
Let’s take a look on Twitter as to what has been said about the midfielder after last night:
Mcgeouch and Leadbitter are like 2 old plodders in a veterans game. Players run past them at ease and limited to 5 yard passes but never forward #SAFC

"DYLAN McGEOUCH 4
The game passed him by"I guess you can just copy and paste that into any match report McGeouch is involved in? @SunderlandAFC #safc

Completely agree. He’s livid, and with good reason. De Bock is surely finished here, and although I’ve backed him to the hilt, I think McGeouch will be heading back to Scotland in January. Parkinson strikes me as someone who won’t tolerate driftwood in the club.

Agree mate, sad but he can’t play again. McGeouch needs to be moved on in Jan.
