Sunderland slipped to defeat against Coventry City at the weekend in Sky Bet League One as they look to get back into the Sky Bet Championship come the end of the season.
The Sky Blues have become the side to beat this season in the league with them losing very few and so the Black Cats can take some solace from that.
Even so, they’ll feel as though the game was there to be won with little in it and with a few better individual performances perhaps they could have got a result.
Up next, then, a match with Gillingham, who had shown signs of improvement under Steve Evans before losing at the weekend, and so Phil Parkinson will be looking to jump all over that.
Ahead of the game, he’s already put out this message:

Naturally, then, there has been a reaction to this so let’s take a look at the best of what has been said:

Agreed, the composure was lacking. How many times must PP shout compose yourself during training. I get really disappointed by pro footballers who don’t do what has been drummed into them for years.

You’ve had warning signs for 5-6 games now yet persist with Power, Gooch, Hume & Wyke
Beaten by 2 of the top sides , conceding early, struggling against Fleetwood, yet you still stick by bang average players, while Scowen,John,Lafferty,Semenyo are all decent replacements #WHY ?— $t€||@ $|€€p//@|K$ ||| t|-| 3 $@||d (@1879SAFC) March 2, 2020
