Sunderland: Fans discuss potentially signing Bright Enobakhare

Sunderland fans have discussed the potential of making a move for Bright Enobakhare, who has mutually terminated his contract with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 22-year-old striker developed through the Premier League club’s academy setup before making the step up to the first team.

Three loan spells away from the Midlands based club at Kilmarnock, Coventry City and Wigan Athletic saw the young forward fall out of favour and gain insufficient playing time under Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

Having made only two appearances this term, the Nigerian is now free to join another club and that will most likely be through the summer as football continues to be a standstill due to the recent pandemic.

Sunderland, who have struggled to find a regular goalscorer this term, could miss out on promotion to the Championship, sitting 7th in the League One standings.

Enobakhare’s decision to leave Wolves has now started quite a conversation on social media between Black Cats fans, who would seemingly be keen for some new goalscoring options to join the club.

Loads of Black Cats fans reacted to a question by Transfer Tavern’s Ben Crump via Facebook group Sunderland AFC Fans Group which asked: “Wolves have confirmed Bright Enobakhare has left the club by mutual agreement! Surely we should make a move….Could be a great move! What do you think?”.

Paul Loy: Course we should make a move but we will not

Ian Lockey: If he is leaving by mutual agreement then he has something lined up already

SAFC Black Cats News Page: We can’t even offer the ‘important’ players of our current squad a new contract never mind those released from other clubs

Michael Docherty: Wages would be the issue as well as dropping two leagues

Michael Peters: Not long before Donald and Co go bust, have not got the money to go through this

Scott Burt: Aye this
