Many Sunderland fans have looked back on a memorable moment of their recent history, surviving relegation from the Premier League in 2016.
Fans of the Black Cats have not had much to shout about over recent seasons, having suffered relegation from the Premier League to League One. Multiple managerial appointments as well as two different owners in Ellis Short and Stewart Donald, with the former having a controversial stint in charge and the latter under much criticism at present, have added to the sense of gloom on Wearside.

However, despite all the turmoil at the club, many fans have looked back at one of the highlights of recent seasons which involved bitter rivals Newcastle. In beating Everton 3-0 four years ago yesterday towards the end of the 2015/16 season, the Black Cats secured their top flight status and, at the same time, relegated Newcastle to the Championship (as per BBC).
