Sunderland: Fans impressed by resounding win at the Academy of Light

Sunderland Ladies won their first home league game of the season 9-1 against Hull City, as reported on the club’s official channels.

Faye Mullen and Keira Ramshaw got a brace each, Jessica Brown and Charlotte Potts got one each, while Bridget Galloway came away with a hat trick:

This result puts the Black Cats second in the Women’s National League Northern Premier Division, alongside Huddersfield Town Ladies with 10 points, as per BBC Sport.

Considering the most recent result Sunderland’s men’s team had – a 3-0 loss at the hands of Peterborough United – and the frustration that came with it, many fans were happy to see a dominant scoreline from the ladies.

Their next fixture should be a closer encounter, as they face Huddersfield at home, as per Sunderland’s official website, in a game which could see them go clear at the top of the table.
