Sunderland edged Southend United at the weekend to remain in the play-off hunt in League One and will be looking to go on a run of form under manager Phil Parkinson.
Their home form looks okay under the former Bradford and Bolton manager at the moment, whilst it is their away form that they will hope improves in the games to come.
At the weekend, it’s the distraction of the first round of the FA Cup against Gillingham, and it remains to be seen just whether or not Parkinson will look to give some of his key players a rest in that one.
Luke O’Nien falls into that bracket, of course, but he’s never struck onlookers as a player that needs a rest – with him proving the difference against Southend at the weekend.
