Sunderland are looking good at the moment in Sky Bet League One with the men from the Stadium of Light well in with a chance of winning promotion back to the Championship come the end of the campagin.
The Black Cats had struggled for form under Phil Parkinson during the early stages of his tenure and fans were hammering him and the players regularly for some very poor performances.
Indeed, he looked a beaten man during that period but the club decided to keep him in his post and, in fairness, he has since turned things around with the players responding to what he wants.
In turn, that has got the fans praising him, too, and that was the case against last night as they ground out what could be a crucial win over Tranmere Rovers away from home.
