Sunderland recorded a rare win at the weekend in Sky Bet League One as they edged out a Doncaster Rovers side 2-1 away from home in their final game of 2019.
As calendar years go, this has been another tough one for the Black Cats on the whole.
The first half of the year had positives in it with them making the play-off final but they lost that to Charlton and things have gradually unravelled since then.
Indeed, they are in still a fairly poor position in the league despite the win over Donny and fan unrest continues with many unhappy with Phil Parkinson and his tenure so far.
Even so, the fans are as loyal and vociferous to their club as always and certainly made themselves heard as 4,000 packed into the away end in south Yorkshire.
