Sunderland are looking weak at the moment and need to start getting results on the board if they maintain hopes of getting into the play-offs at the end of the season.
It has not been a good campaign so far for the men from Wearside with them struggling to string results together and looking well short on confidence under Phil Parkinson.
Indeed, he is under real pressure at the moment but the Black Cats do not have a game until Boxing Day to try and address things and so they’ll just have to keep working away on the training ground for the coming days.
Away from the pitch, though, there has been some good news with two Sunderland fans coming in as non-executive directors.
Tom Sloanes and David Jones – from Sky Sports – have joined and Jones has sent this message out:
Thrilled to be on board with @SunderlandAFC … let’s see if we can get people smiling again. Thanks for all the messages. Apologies for the lack of replies now and in the future. Tom is a really good guy. https://t.co/jq8rHm8Fw8

Black Cats fans are pleased to see two of their own supporters involved with the club, so let’s take a look at the reaction to this message:

Good luck in the role.
I hope you will go into this with the long term progress and success of the club in mind.
We’ve had too much short-termism over the last decade, and too much popularism over the last 18mths.
We need a rebuild for the future, at all levels of the club.

Congratulations, good to have you on board. Probably not the first to say….. Parkinson out

At least we have someone who has the club at heart on board now.
