The games keep on coming for Sunderland at the moment with them back in action in the FA Cup this evening against Gillingham.
The Black Cats saw their League One match with Bristol Rovers postponed at the weekend but they are still amidst a hectic period, with them losing in the EFL Trophy last week to Scunthorpe.
That was a real low point in a moment in the season where they are struggling, and this replay tonight at Priestfield is one that, ideally, they need to win and win well.
They have the talent, but it’s whether they have the confidence to get a result tonight, and it’ll be interesting to see just how they get on.
Phil Parkinson spoke to the press yesterday, meanwhile, to preview the game and had this to say ahead of it:
