Sunderland will be hoping to try and build on their win over Doncaster at the end of this year with a victory against Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One.
The Black Cats have not had a great season so far by any stretch and have a lot of work on to try and make the play-offs come the end of the campaign.
They have the talent in the squad to make a go of it, of course, but fan discontent is rife at the moment and most of it is aimed at manager Phil Parkinson.
All he can do, then, is try and build a string of wins to give himself a chance and the next opportunity comes with their first game of the new year against the men from the north-west.
Sunderland have looked to preview it already on Twitter, too, and there’s been quite the reaction to that so let’s see what has been said:

So the coward has decided to sell up . Who now is 10 x richer than SD and can persuade a decent manager to come to safc and surely only 3rd division players or has beens would want to club to a club in turmoil and demanding/expecting promotion.
