Sunderland have had a poor season so far by their early expectations and fans will be hoping that things are going to turn around sooner rather than later.
Though the Black Cats are in no danger of relegation at the moment, they are losing ground all the time on the play-off places as they remain in a really bad rut of form.
Clearly, they need to start winning games to get back up the table and that will be Phil Parkinson’s job, with him and the players needing to find a way to start scoring more goals for the club.
How they could do, then, with Josh Maja still playing for them with the youngster scoring a hat-trick last night for Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in their 6-0 win over Nimes.
Naturally, this has got Sunderland fans talking on social media and so let’s take a look at the best of the reaction among their fans to his trio of goals:
Josh Maja has just scored a hattrick, we have scored 3 goals in 4 games… #SAFC

Josh Maja tonight has scored the same amount of goals Grigg, McNulty and Wyke have scored in the league this season. #safc

The thing is with Maja you can just tell he learnt from and trained with Jermain Defoe. The biggest mistake every not keeping him here. #SAFC
