This comes after Jon McLaughlin was called up to the Scotland national team, while Conor McLaughlin and Tom Flanagan both made the Northern Ireland squad.

Due to the call-ups, the Black Cats were given the option to postpone the League One match, which has been taken:

However, many fans have been left outraged by the club’s decision, claiming there is a lack of consideration for fans, no ambition, while also stating their feeling that the decision is needless.

There had been a sense of excitement about Lee Burge getting a chance in goal while McLaughlin is away with Scotland, while Flanagan has only started three league games this season, as per WhoScored.

Conor McLaughlin has been a regular, starting seven league games, but many of the fans feel he is easily replaceable, with all of this leaving plenty of the club’s supporters bemused about the decision to postpone.
