Sunderland: Many fans left fuming after 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers

Jack Ross’ Sunderland side were only able to scrape a 1-1 draw against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Jack Hobbs had opened the scoring for Bolton in the 50th minute, before Aiden McGeady earned the Black Cats a point when he dispatched his penalty in the 91st, as per WhoScored:

That goal in the game’s dying embers may have been enough to avoid defeat, but it wasn’t enough to prevent many furious Sunderland fans from venting about the performance and result.

This was, after all, against a team who still haven’t got a win this season, have drawn just three times, had only scored one goal prior to the game and had the result take them to -9 points in the table, as per BBC Sport.

What this also means, is that Sunderland are now five points off top spot, having dropped four points in their last two games.
