Sunderland: Many fans unimpressed with Jack Ross despite win

Following Sunderland’s 2-1 win against MK Dons, Jack Ross spoke about his side’s record this season, citing an impressive statistic.

The Black Cats manager stated that the positive result meant his team had lost just once in their 13 games so far in the 2019/20 campaign:

“We are 13 games into the season and only suffered one defeat.

“We are striving to get better and improve – it has been a positive week for us. The strength of character the players have shown has been pleasing.”

While he was giving himself a pat on the back for that record, many Sunderland fans were looking at it in a far less positive light, pointing out that while there has only been one loss suffered, four of the league matches have ended in draws, as per BBC Sport.

This sees them five points off the league leaders, Ipswich Town, which isn’t deemed good enough by large sections of the club’s fanbase, while there has also been criticism of Ross’ tactical decisions this term.
