Following Sunderland’s 1-0 loss against Wycombe Wanderers, Phil Parkinson spoke to the club’s official channels.
It wasn’t the greatest quality video due to the sound, but the manager was just about able to get his message across following his first game in the Sunderland hotseat:
“We can’t get too low from the defeat, we must dust ourselves down and go again Tuesday.”
Phil Parkinson on today’s defeat…

However, there was much more to worry about for some Sunderland fans than the quality of the audio, as they don’t think their new manager is good enough.
Parkinson was only announced as the man replacing Jack Ross on Thursday, yet some feel they have seen enough from him in the game and the following interview to decide that the 51-year-old isn’t up to the job.
There is a hint from one fan that they have given up on promotion, while others are already seeing similarities to Jack Ross.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the interview, including posts from unimpressed Sunderland fans, can be seen below:
Terrible worst I’ve seen them play this season and that’s saying something, promotion??? We will be lucky to finish top half in this league

Resign. The job is too big for you. Should have been Nigel Pearson assisted by Kevin Phillips
