The January transfer window is likely going to be a turning point for many clubs across the EFL, and Sunderland could well be one of the teams that plan to go big when 2020 rolls around.

Popular Sunderland Twitter account The Roker Report has thrown its two-cents into the ring as to who the Black Cats should sign when the January window opens its doors for business, and supporters on social media have also been giving their ideas as to who Phil Parkinson can bring to the Stadium of Light in order to kick-start the club’s promotion hopes.
The Black Cats have endured a painful few weeks, slipping to seventh in the League One table (per the EFL’s official website) and losing to the likes of Leicester City’s U-21 side in the EFL Trophy (per the Chronicle), which is why supporters are seemingly keen on the club making moves when January arrives.

Creativity and pace. Quality central midfielders.

I think Flanagan may go so will need to be replaced, personally would look to move McGuire on and replace with more mobile creative attacking midfielder.

Needing exactly the same type of players that were needed in the summer. Didn’t get them then and can’t see us getting them in January either.

Try and bring in a bit quality, maybe someone with a bit pace and also a bit height! Stop looking for 100k players

Right back, a centre midfielder who can carry the ball and an out and out pacy winger are a must!
