Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hugely excited at the moment as their side stand on the edge of promotion at last with their game against Preston tonight.
The Magpies have certainly made things tough for themselves this season but a win tonight would finally seal the deal and confirm their return to the top flight under Rafa Benitez.
Of course, many would have liked to have won the title on promotion this year but that is looking unlikely now with Brighton looking good to take the trophy this year.
Certainly, though, as long as the club goes up no-one will really care even if Alan Pardew thinks the club could still win it via Lee Ryder of The Chronicle on Twitter.
