‘The guy is a muppet’ - Newcastle fans angered by prominent Championship figure’s latest comments

Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are more than ready for this weekend’s game against Fulham as they aim to carry on their title surge.

You can see why, too, with the Magpies underlining their title credentials in recent games with three massive results in succession.

After beating Brighton and Huddersfield away, the men from the north-east took another decent point off of Reading to leave them firmly in the pound seats for the title chase.

They should, then, be confident of beating Fulham this weekend – despite the men from Craven Cottage going well this season – but David Prutton thinks a slip-up is on the cards.

Writing in his regular Sky Sports prediction column for the Championship, the former player said:

“This should be a good game with the way that Fulham approach it. They have a lot of energy and pace in the wide areas, and in Tom Cairney have someone who showed his quality with the late goal against Leeds in midweek.

“Newcastle have had a good 10 days with wins at Brighton and Huddersfield and then drawing Reading, but I think the points will be shared on Saturday.”

Prutton then revealed he was going for a 2-2 scoreline at St. James’ Park, leaving many Magpies on Twitter aghast.

They really can’t see where Prutton has got this prediction from and, naturally, they’ve let their opinions about it be known.
