Everton are on top form under Marco Silva – a man who’s done an excellent job of rescuing the club from the murky depths of Sam Allardyce’s short and thoroughly miserable time in charge.
There’s definitely a sense that the club can go on to achieve anything this season, returning themselves to their former glory days as consistent top six contenders.
Silva’s success is, of course, predominately down to his refreshing tactics – consisting of slick attacking football, rounded off with quick passing and smooth transitions. However, credit where credit is due, his recruitment in the summer was sublime, and no one player looks to be a flop.
Heading into the January transfer, the Portuguese man will be keen on repeating his success and bringing in some top names.
This, of course, means that some players will be sacrificed to make space…
Oumar Niasse
It’s no secret that Oumar Niasse’s time at Goodison Park is limited.
The Senegalese forward is evidently missing the clinical touch, or any touch at all for that matter, that is required of a Premier League forward.
He runs around a lot, to be fair. But throw a dog a frisbee in the park and they’ll give you the same amount of effort. It doesn’t equate to quality or success.
He’s been linked with a move away from the club for some time now, with Turkish outlet Fanatik reporting that Galatasary are the most likely suitors.
The sooner he leaves the better.
Cenk Tosun
Cenk Tosun is another misfiring forward who Marco Silva will be keen to get rid of this January.
Despite a pretty successful start under his old boss, scoring five goals in fourteen games, the Turkey international has gone on to be one of the poorest performers in the current side.
And, having scored a paltry two goals in ten appearances this term which, quite frankly, isn’t enough, he’s found himself occupying a well deserved spot on the bench.
Everton’s decision to sign from the Turkish Super Lig has massively backfired. Time to cash in, Marco Silva.
