This is why Newcastle should move for Adam Lallana if they stay in the Premier League

Newcastle United fans here in the Tavern are desperate for their side to secure a future in the Premier League, with only eight games left in the current campaign.

Newcastle have struggled to come to terms with the English top-flight after being promoted last season, as they continue to flirt with the possibility of relegation back to the Championship. Indeed, Rafa Benitez has done his best to keep the Magpies away from the dreaded relegation zone in the current campaign, but there’s still plenty of work to be done with crunch matches against Huddersfield and West Bromwich Albion to come.

However, one of their biggest problems has been transfer window business over the past year, as Newcastle owner Mike Ashley continues to cause problems for the club. Although, with the Magpies looking like securing another season in the Premier League, many of our local northerners are praying that Benitez will raid his former club Liverpool for Adam Lallana.

Therefore, here’s a look at TWO reasons as to why Newcastle United should move for Adam Lallana if they stay up…

Proven quality

Adam Lallana is arguably one of the most impressive attacking midfielders in the Premier League, but injuries have halted his progress in the current campaign as he’s only managed to make 12 appearances.

Indeed, the 29-year-old has been influential for Liverpool since joining the club back in 2014, and has also delivered consistently on the international stage for England. With Newcastle United struggling for Premier League standard players in the current campaign, they can guarantee themselves a proven performer in the top-flight by bringing the Liverpool trickster to St James’ Park.

Therefore, the Magpies should look to bring the Englishman to Tyneside in the summer transfer window, as a key part of the ‘top end of the table’ team that Benitez wants to build.

Missing piece

Newcastle United are currently one of the lowest scoring teams in the current Premier League campaign with only 30 goals to their name, as a lack of creativity in the final third continues to cause problems.

Indeed, Matt Ritchie has failed to replicate the 10 assists and 16 goals from last season in the Championship, with his efforts thus far causing for many of our local residents to become unsettled. Although, Adam Lallana may just be the creative spark that the club are calling out for, having contributed countless amounts of assists during his time in the Premier League thus far.

Therefore, Newcastle United should make a move for Adam Lallana in the summer months as a valuable addition to their squad, with his high-quality service going a long way to helping the club’s ineffective strikers find their feet.
