Whilst Newcastle United may be eight points clear of the relegation zone, their survival in the Premier League is far from secure.
The Toon return to the action on Sunday as they host Sheffield United at St. James’ Park, and they will be hoping to get off the mark with a win. With nine games left, it is still all to play for and, with two matches against Manchester City, as well as fixtures versus Liverpool and Tottenham to come, they need all the points they can get early on.

Their hopes of survival, though, have been given a huge boost with the latest news. It has been confirmed that both Matty Longstaff and Andy Carroll have signed short-term contracts that will see them stay with the club until the end of the current campaign.
