Newcastle United could well be on the edge of becoming one of the very richest clubs on the planet.
The Toon, of course, could soon be purchased by the Saudi Royal Family, which would likely give them huge funds to be able to add to their current squad. The likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Edinson Cavani have been mentioned, whilst Alan Shearer has even talked up the chance of Kylian Mbappe making the move to Tyneside (Canal+ via The Daily Mirror).

The Magpies would join the likes of Manchester City and PSG, who have also been bought by groups with ties to the Middle East in the past few years.

Of course, the current pandemic is likely to see a decrease in spending, but 57-year-old La Liga president Javier Tebas believes that some clubs could still animate the market – and he has included Newcastle in that select group (RAC1 via The Chronicle).
