Tottenham have agreed a £55m deal with West Ham for star winger Mohammed Kudus according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano. Romano reported that Kudus only wanted Tottenham and has agreed personal terms on a 6 year contract in North London.
Romano added that medical tests have been scheduled for the player for Thursday, before the contract is signed and the move is made official. Kudus became Spurs’ number one target this summer following the appointment of Thomas Frank as new manager from Brentford.
Despite links with a move for Frank’s former player Bryan Mbeumo – who is the current subject of negotiations between Brentford and Manchester United – Spurs last week launched a £50m bid to West Ham for Kudus that was rejected by the Hammers.
Negotiations continued and Tottenham have now secured their man. The Ghana star is set to become Tottenham’s first marquee signing of the Thomas Frank era.
Kudus is Tottenham’s new star man

With the futures of key forwards Son Heung-min and Richarlison in doubt, Kudus is expected to play a starring role for Tottenham. He likely would have been first choice in any case, but sales of attacking players further cements his place in the squad.
Kudus has been one of West Ham’s standout performers since joining the club from Ajax in 2023. He has played 80 games, scoring 19 goals and contributing 13 assists. He scored 14 goals across all competitions in his first season with the club in 2023/24 and emerged as one of the Hammers’ key men.
Last season in comparison was quiet by his lofty standards, scoring five goals and contributing three assists in 32 Premier League games. He remains one of the Premier League’s elite playmakers though and will bring much flair and creativity to Spurs’ front line.
Kudus was a target for several clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia. He had an £85m release clause in his contract that could only be activated by other Premier League clubs but West Ham were always open to letting him go for lower.
They ultimately did just that, striking a deal with Tottenham despite Chelsea’s offer of a player-plus-cash deal involving goalkeeper Robert Sanchez earlier in the summer.
The Hammers rejected that approach, as well as an £85m bid from Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr in April. The player himself rejected the move as well, preferring a move across Europe to a Champions League club.
He now has his wish, as Tottenham achieved Champions League football for next season after their Europa League triumph over Man United in May.
