Tottenham Hotspur have renewed their interest in AS Roma winger Cengiz Under, that is according to a report from Tuttomercato.
It is suggested that the north London club were initially keen on signing the player whilst he was still playing in Turkey, before moving to Rome (Ajansspor). He was then again linked in the summer of 2019 when Turkish Football suggested that Spurs tried to make contact with the Italian outfit about him.
Tuttomercato now report that Tottenham are set to rekindle their interest for a third time, but that it is their Premier League rivals Everton who are in pole position to sign the 22-year-old.
The £21.6m-valued ace hasn’t been a regular under Paulo Fonseca this season, starting just nine times in Serie A, although a bicep injury did force him to miss seven games (Transfermarkt).
Loads of Spurs fans have been reacting on Twitter to the transfer link, with several different responses. One fan suggested that the Turk has become the new Leandro Damiao, a player who was also constantly linked with a move to the club but nothing ever materialised (Football 365).
Under is the new damiano …every window we get linked
