Tottenham Hotspur would be willing to pay €30 million (£25.3m) to Real Madrid to acquire the services of Gareth Bale this month, that is according to Spanish journalist Juanfe Sanz Perez speaking on El Chiringuito TV.
This is a new development in the transfer saga and comes just a day after the same journalist claimed that Daniel Levy was in talks with Florentino Perez about a potential deal for the Welsh international (El Chiringuito TV).
Bale was of course on the verge of leaving the La Liga giants in the summer before they pulled the plug on a deal which would have seen him move to Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu Suning (BBC Sport). That meant he was forced to stay in Madrid, but he has struggled to make much of an impact this season with just two goals in 14 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
Juanfe Sanz didn’t give any indication as to what Real Madrid’s response would be to Spurs, but he is convinced that the north London club are keen to sign their former talisman.
However, it seems that most Tottenham fans don’t believe that their club will be forking out for Bale anytime soon. They can’t see Levy spending the money it would take to get the Welshman, particularly because of his high wages. Here is what some had to say about it on Twitter…
It’s just not going to happen, he won’t take a pay cut and Levy won’t pay that amount…………………………I’ll be reading the same transfer rumor in 20 years……………but it will be about Bale becoming THFC new manager.

Never going to happen whilst Levy is in charge!

“The problem for Levy though could well be Bale’s high wages”
You. Don’t Say.

Not happening. Levy is a joke it’s now official. We can only hope we don’t get dragged into a relegation fight.
