Troy Parrott made his Tottenham Hotspur debut as they crashed out of the Carabao Cup against Colchester United on penalties, following a 0-0 draw.
The 17-year-old striker played 66 minutes, taking 4 shots, with 1 of those going off target and the other 3 being blocked, while he completed 82% of his attempted passes, as per SofaScore.
Alasdair Gold from Football.london saw positives for the Republic of Ireland international, despite him having a quiet game:

Many fans had been demanding for the teenager to play in the game, but it turns out that once he got on the pitch, some of them were left underwhelmed by the outcome.
During his 32 games cited on Transfermarkt across Spurs’ U18s, U19s and U23s, Parrott scored 23 goals and assisted 5 more, which perhaps had supporters expecting more from him against the League Two opposition despite his tender age.
A selection of Twitter reaction to the performance, including posts from underwhelmed Spurs fans, can be seen below:
Felt he should have done a lot better, particularly given all the creativity behind him

Thought he looked off it, to be honest. Nerves probably. Though, I hardly blame him. He had poor service and was surrounded by ten Colchester players most of the game.

Apart from anything else I suspect no kid is going to have played in a game where all the opposition is defending almost all the time. Something to get used to.
