Tottenham Hotspur ‘make approach’ for £100 million-rated Chelsea forward

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the Premier League’s biggest spenders this summer, with their recruitment drive under Roberto De Zerbi already taking their total outlay to around £231 million (€267m).

Spurs have strengthened across the pitch, but their appetite for major additions does not appear to be over just yet.

They could now be ready to make another huge investment on a player they know well from his time in the Premier League.

Spurs Interested in Pedro Neto

Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in Chelsea winger Pedro Neto and have already made an approach for the Portugal international, according to the Metro.

Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for the 26-year-old before the transfer window closes, but they are understood to want close to £100 million to sanction his departure.

Neto joined the Blues from Wolves for £54m in 2024 and has since made more than 100 appearances for the club. However, despite reaching double figures for goals last season, his overall output has arguably fallen short of expectations given the size of his transfer fee.

Tottenham’s interest comes after they added several attacking players of their own, but De Zerbi is seemingly keen to continue strengthening his forward options.

Spurs are not alone in their pursuit. Manchester City and Arsenal have also registered interest, with City particularly keen on Neto due to his previous relationship with Enzo Maresca.

Maresca managed the winger during his time at Chelsea before making the controversial move to Manchester City, adding another layer to the transfer saga.

Chelsea’s willingness to sell has been influenced by the growing competition in their attack following the arrivals of Morgan Rogers, Geovany Quenda and Emmanuel Emegha.

Neto’s future therefore remains uncertain, with Tottenham now emerging as another serious contender for a player who could command one of the summer’s biggest transfer fees.
