Taking to Twitter, reliable journalist Dan Kilpatrick has shared a big update on the future of Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane.

The Lowdown: Spurs bow out...

Antonio Conte's side have struggled to gain any sort of momentum in recent weeks with differing performances week in, week out.

Just a fortnight ago, Tottenham sealed a brilliant 3-2 win away to Premier League champions Manchester City in what was a fantastic display - particularly by Kane.

However, what followed was a dismal 1-0 loss to Burnley at Turf Moor just a few days later, with that result coming after other shock defeats to the likes of Wolves and Southampton earlier in February.

Thereafter, an imperious 4-0 win at Leeds couldn't be built upon as Spurs went crashing out of the FA Cup, again losing 1-0, with Middlesbrough upsetting Conte's men in extra time.

The Latest: Kilpatrick shares Kane update...

Taking to Twitter, Kilpatrick of The Evening Standard now says Spurs' latest result throws Kane's future into 'further doubt' as the England international had his eye on winning the competition.

"Kane's long-term future cast into further doubt by Spurs FA Cup exit," he explained.

"Kane had made it clear that he would have considered winning the competition under Conte a significant step forward."

The Verdict: Blow for Conte?

The 28-year-old, as evident by Pep Guardiola's repeated attempts last summer, will not be short of suitors.

After a slow start under Nuno Espirito Santo, Kane has seemingly rediscovered his best form as Manchester United have now become linked with a potential summer move.

If Spurs don't manage to go on a consistent run and finish the season strongly, question marks could surround whether he will remain in north London for another season or push to leave.
