The Derby County fans here in the Transfer Tavern are excited about the new era. Indeed, the punters propping up our bar cannot wait to see what Frank Lampard has to offer in the dugout next season and, if he’s only half as good a manager as he was a player, our resident Rams are in for a treat.
So, the excitement is indeed palpable in our bar. Which is exactly why confirmation posted on the club’s Twitter account that the Lampard era has got underway has gone down a storm. A legend at Chelsea of course, the former England man has kicked off his reign in charge by luring former teammate Jody Morris to Pride Park.
#DCFC are pleased to confirm the arrival of Jody Morris to manager Frank Lampard’s backroom team.

Morris was previously in charge of Chelsea’s academy though left his post in west London in order to move to the East Midlands, where he’ll undertake the assistant manager’s role. As you can imagine, the Derby fans in our bar are absolutely delighted with the news.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the reaction online.
