The Arsenal supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern have turned their vocal chords up a notch as their summer business this transfer window as all of a sudden been boosted, with the stunning addition of prolific Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsene Wenger now must be heading into pre-season with a fairly optimistic attitude that they can finally mount a challenge for the Premier League title after many disappointing failures in recent history.
Whether the north London outfit strengthen their ranks further remains to be seen but there is no doubt that the Gunners should allow a couple of games in coming weeks to judge their upcoming talents.
Fans by the bar are secretly discussing how they feel Arsenal could take advantage of the prestigious youth academy at their disposal, which has drafted some top quality talents from years gone by now.
However, now it is time for Arsene Wenger to unleash these TWO hidden gems during the club’s pre-season schedule this month….
Jeff Reine-Adelaide
Jeff Reine-Adelaide is seemingly following the renown pattern of French players to feature in Wenger’s first-team, although his chances lately have come at a premium with little opportunity to showcase his talent.
The 19 year-old attacking threat made a total of six appearances for the Gunners throughout the 2016/17 campaign but his most recent outing was back in March in their 5-0 triumph over Sutton United in the FA Cup.
Although, the tavern’s Arsenal-mad landlord has been impressed with the reviews the youngster is earning for the club’s under-23 squad, almost single-handedly earning them promotion to the first division in 2016.
With Wenger’s midfield looking thin on the ground, the boss may be tempted to persuade himself on allowing Jeff Reine-Adelaide to flourish in pre-season to prove he is up to senior football capability.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Ainsley Maitland-Niles, seemingly the forgotten man in north London, was tipped for a bright future at the Emirates but our barman reckons his time is up at Arsenal if he can’t prove himself in the forthcoming friendlies.
He was an integral role of Ipswich Town’s Championship team during the 2015/16 season after featuring in over thirty matches for the second-tier outfit, however, since returning Arsene Wenger has found a place for him in the first-team.
The Gunners have two scheduled matches in their tour of Australia where Maitland-Niles could prove the tavern wrong if the boss judges the prospective 19 year-old is up to the challenge.
