West Bromwich Albion fans were delighted as Matt Clarke made his return to the action during the club's Premier League 2 game on Monday against Sunderland.

Clarke made the move to The Baggies from Brighton during the summer transfer window, and he made three appearances in the Championship early on in the season. However, a hamstring injury has meant he missed the next eight league games due to the issue (Transfermarkt).

There was some positive news on Monday though as he was included in the Baggies' U23 starting line-up for the clash against Sunderland. The Midlands outfit eventually prevailed 1-0, and Clarke should soon be able to play once more for the first team as the West Brom continue their push for promotion.

The update was provided on the club's official Twitter account, and it attracted plenty of attention from the supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts on the matter.
