Hammer’s fans in the Transfer Tavern are left feeling a bit disappointed after reading reports that their efforts to sign Danilo D’Ambrosio in the January transfer window are going to fall short.
Reports from TalkSport suggest that the Italian full-back, currently playing for Inter Milan, was on West Ham boss Slaven Bilic’s radar in the summer but Fiorentina are the new front-runners to land him.
The 27-year-old full-back, who arrived from Torino in 2014, is yet to make an appearance for Inter this season and looks set to leave when the transfer window opens.
The Italian under-21 international, born in Naples, made 34 appearances altogether for Inter Milan but this season has missed out on an opportunity of first team football for the side and looks certain to part with the club and offer his services elsewhere.
Fiorentina are hoping to sign D’Ambrosio on a loan deal until next summer and then make a move for a permanent purchase from Inter as his contract won’t run out at the San Siro until 2018.
West Ham fans, with D’Ambrosio looking set to join Fiorentina, how hard will it be for Slaven Bilic to find another suitable target to replace him? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
