A number of West Ham supporters were left amazed with captain Mark Noble’s performance on Saturday, as he was able to slot home his 47th Premier League goal for the club, equalling Paolo Di Canio’s total.

David Moyes’ men made the trip to Vicarage Road to take on Claudio Ranieri’s Watford on Tuesday afternoon.

Since winning a string of Premier League games in October and early November, West Ham have only been able to win just one of their last seven league matches, but the Irons’ fortunes finally turned back in the right direction as they emerged victorious in a feisty 4-1 win.

The game saw many more promising performances from Moyes’ side, however it was the club captain who took the plaudits.

Noble’s 58th minute penalty ensured three points for the Irons as the east-London side moved above rivals Tottenham in the Premier League table, up to fifth place.

This penalty saw Noble move up to second in the league’s leader board for goals scored from the spot against a single side, with his five conversions vs the Hornets second to just Alan Shearer, who scored seven times against Everton.
