As the Hammers officially announced that promising young talent Jamal Baptiste has signed his first professional deal, many West Ham fans have gushed over the ‘amazing news‘ – going on to claim that it is ‘massive‘ for the club to tie him down.
Baptiste, who has shown real potential in east London, puts pen to paper on his first contract with the club after turning heads with his composed and assured performances in the academy set up.
Tall, strong and comfortable on the ball – Baptiste apparently models his game off the likes of Virgil van Dijk and even former Hammers defender Matthew Upson (Claret & Hugh).
