Tyler Roberts is not fit for Leeds’ game against Brentford tomorrow night, as Marcelo Bielsa confirmed earlier today. The Wales centre-forward suffered a knock to his calf (per Phil Hay) during the 2-0 loss to Nottingham Forest and will not be in the squad for the fixture against the Bees.
Walker hasn’t enjoyed the best of times this season, having been suffering from a hamstring problem which has seen him play just 12 times in the Championship (via Transfermarkt). He suffered the issue in the clash against Reading, eventually sitting out six games before returning for the win over Birmingham City. However, he suffered a recurrence in the fixture with the Blues and was out until the most recent loss at home to Wigan Athletic.
His fitness problems meant Patrick Bamford enjoyed a prolonged spell in the number nine role, scoring just eight goals in his last 25 league fixtures. Another injury for Roberts means the former Middlesbrough forward could start tomorrow night as some fans took to Twitter to lash out at the 21-year-old. Here are a few tweets from fans:
