Potential consequences: A big Tottenham move for Tanguy Ndombele

It’s fair to say that Tottenham haven’t enjoyed the greatest start to the season but with the January addition of a certain Tanguy Ndombele, their season could be revived.

Having not signed a single player during the summer, there was always the potential for Tottenham to struggle against the bigger spending sides and with injuries mixed in as well, Spurs are really now starting to see the need to bring in some talented players during the next window.

According to The Daily Mirror, Tottenham are joining Manchester City in the battle to sign Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele and what a signing that could turn out to be. The paper revealed that Spurs actually had a £40 million bid turned down in the summer for Ndombele, with them now expected to return with a bigger fee.

Dier the man to be replaced

A signing this audacious would make a lot of fans happy, even if it may not be so enjoyable for current Tottenham players to see the Frenchman arrive.

Eric Dier particularly is a player who could feel very threatened by this deal seeing as he recently bagged Tottenham all three points, scoring the winner against Cardiff.

Finally, he may have felt close to securing his place in the starting line-up but with such a bold transfer from Tottenham, he may lose importance and consequently his place in the side.

Ndombele would have enhanced his reputation even further in his recent match against Manchester City, seeing as his incredible vision cut apart the Citizens on multiple occasions.

The 21-year-old is in fantastic form and a move to Tottenham could escalate his career even more as the move would likely see Eric Dier take a place on the bench, as he watches Ndombele strut his stuff.
